My entry for the 'Framed' contest theme over at iheartfaces.com 3 Comments 2012 has been an absolutely amazing year for me, my family, and my business. I've had many return customers and met plenty of new ones. I'm honored to have been included in some of the most important events in your lives and I love to see my 'family' grow each year as new clients are bought into the circle. I'm very thankful for everyone who participates on my Facebook page. Your feedback is so very important. And for everyone who has shared a JFP image or suggested me to friends or family, thank you. You're the best. I'm so proud to share with you a *few* (ahem, I had a hard time narrowing it down) of my favorite images from 2012. If you'd like to look into possibly working together on your photographs, please contact me. I'm now accepting booking for 2013 and I'd be thrilled to have you! I'm happy it's Friday for a couple reasons...One, the weekend is upon us. And two, we get a Fix-It Friday challenge over at I Heart Faces. I ran several edits, making several different versions of this photo (which is not mine and belongs to the person who provided it for the challenge). I settled on these 3. I prefer the B/W conversion to the other two, mostly because of the lipstick on the little girl. I'm just not a fan. I used the sponge tool to absorb some of the color, but it's still more lip color on a kiddo than I personally care for. Plus, this girlie's eyes are pretty intense in B/W. It's Fridayyyy!!!! Here's the original image: And a few quick edits: (Image courtesy of i heart faces) See more at: This cute little guy showed up at our house a little over a week ago...and he stuck. My kids fell in love with him, as expected. So he now dons a bright green collar with bell and proudly wears the name Milo, as named by my 4 year old son. He's a gray and brown tabby and has the best personality. Despite having a respiratory infection that makes him sleep alot, he manages to play with the kids, his tail, and crumpled paper daily. We are thoroughly enjoying him.....but our other cat? Not so much lol. More pet faces found here: I haven't shared this image yet with anyone other than my mentor. It came from a challenge she gave me to learn to be ok with myself, to seek what is deep inside of me. I had a series of emotional images come from that challenge and this was by far my favorite. I learned a lot about myself that day. Perhaps at some point I'll be ready to share some of it. Head over to iheartfaces to see more entries: This has been my first business season for senior portraits. Honestly, I didn't really want to get in to the whole senior thing. It was so intimidating. Senior pictures are a BIG DEAL and they have to be perfect....or so I thought. After jumping in head first with my first senior, by request, I fell in love. I loved having someone that responded to slight direction. I loved being able to use this model in front of me to express a vision I saw. I began accepting other senior bookings. As you can see from the shoot dates posted, my fall was pretty busy with senior sessions. With each one, I got to witness sparks of personality shining through. It has been truly enjoyable....to the point I feel safe in saying that seniors have been my favorite type of session this year. The shooting was enjoyable because I felt like I got what I wanted to capture. The editing was a breeze because, seeing as seniors have the ability to sit still, there weren't any frustrating little annoyances like motion blur. And above all, the time spent with the seniors (and moms when present!) during the session was an absolute blast! Lots of laughs...lots of jokes...lots of attempts at something cool that fell short but provided us with some hilarious memories. I can't wait to get my next batch of seniors! I am currently accepting bookings! So here is daling little Lila. She is turning 1 in a few days...I'm sure mom and dad feel like this past year has flown by! Miss Lila was a little slow to warm up, but when she did, she was ON! She gave me lots of cute shots. But how could she not?? Look at her! Super-cute baby girl. Happy Birthday Lila! |
